At the beginning of the year I would like to have the children recognizing and printing their letters and
numbers and writing their name correctly. As we progress into the school year it is important to help your child
put sounds together to begin reading word family words. Word families are those
that rhyme. (cat,sat:hit,sit:cup,pup:etc) It is also important to practice the sight words that are sent home(later
in the year). Reading with your child on a daily basis is also another big plus. Work with your child as much as possible,
everything helps.
